South Korean startup METAFACTORY Corporation, which transforms spaces through XR content, has secured investment from Korea Investment Accelerator. Following its first investment from Megabox Joongang last year, METAFACTORY Corporation’s cumulative funding has now exceeded KRW 1.3 billion.
METAFACTORY Corporation is a tech startup specializing in spatial content, leveraging AI and XR technology to deliver digital experiences efficiently and effectively in existing spaces. One of its notable projects is “MetaGround Seongsu,” a new spatial platform where it has transformed one auditorium of Megabox Seongsu into a dedicated digital experience space. The company collaborates across various fields—including gaming, IPs, artists, and corporate partners—to create unique experiences.
With its proprietary AI solutions, METAFACTORY has significantly reduced the costs and production time for creating broadcast and immersive content. Building on this competitive edge, it produces a diverse range of AI and XR content. Its in-house media art series “Starlight” has been showcased to the public with enthusiastic reception, highlighting the company’s rapid growth. Additionally, METAFACTORY is committed to transforming traditional spaces, as seen in its collaboration with Playtime Joongang, where it introduced XR-enhanced content to existing kids’ theme parks.
CEO Han Wonhee said, “We aim to continuously create examples of transforming spaces through content, beyond just the XR field. Our goal is to bring an experience like Las Vegas’ Sphere to Korea.”
CXO Lee Jae-il added, “In the rapidly changing content market, we’re providing fresh experiences to the public within spaces powered by new technology, and we plan to extend these digital experiences to a variety of environments in the future.”
