Alicorn Chosen for Tokyo’s Foreign Company Attraction Project, Expands in Japan
Alicorn, a South Korea-based smart space operation solution company utilizing AI and IoT technologies, announced on November 6 that it has been selected for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s project aimed at attracting and discovering foreign companies. This selection is expected to accelerate Alicorn’s entry into the Japanese market and bolster its presence there.
Operating under the brand name ‘Alicorn,’ the company offers solutions that enable efficient management of various spaces such as offices, fitness centers, warehouses, and hotel facilities. In Korea, prominent clients like GS Group, Shinhan Investment Corp., and SpoAny are already benefiting from Alicorn’s technology to enhance their facility operations. The solution is also gaining traction in Japan among warehouse operators, sports facility operators, and hotels.
Recently, Alicorn was chosen for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s initiative to attract foreign companies. This program supports the entry of foreign enterprises into Tokyo by offering financial aid and other benefits to selected companies. Additionally, since May this year, Alicorn has been part of the K-Startup Center Tokyo’s startup support program, facilitated by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, receiving comprehensive assistance including office space, corporate establishment support, and help with interpretation, translation, and business development.
CEO Minhee Cho remarked, “Being selected for this program underscores the global competitiveness of our technology. With the backing from K-Startup Center Tokyo and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, we are planning to deepen our engagement in the Japanese market through partnerships with local entities.”
Alicorn is not only expanding its operations to Japan but also to other Asian markets like Taiwan. These international growth efforts are supported by initiatives such as the Korean government’s AI voucher project and the Korea Tourism Organization’s Tourism Global Challenge program. The support from these programs, particularly the Tokyo initiative and K-Startup Center Tokyo, serves as a prime example of effective government support policies aiding Korean startups in their international expansion.
With the ongoing support from these programs, Alicorn is well-positioned to strengthen its market presence in Japan, contributing to the development of smart cities with its cutting-edge AI and IoT solutions and fostering technological cooperation between Korea and Japan.
