Korean game studio Nirvanana has successfully raised Series A funding from Altos Ventures, Smilegate Investment, and HRZ. The studio plans to use this investment to focus on developing its debut project, codenamed ZETA.
ZETA is a character-based strategy PvP (player vs. player) game scheduled for release in 2026. It combines third-person action with strategic gameplay, aiming to deliver an immersive experience where players can make thoughtful decisions. The game is designed to balance strategic depth with intuitive gameplay, appealing to both casual and competitive players. It will also be optimized for multiple platforms, including consoles, PCs, and cloud systems, offering cross-platform play and compatibility with various input devices.
Founded in 2022, Nirvanana is led by CEO Nam-seok Kim, a veteran of the gaming industry and former developer at Nimble Neuron, the studio behind the PC battle royale game ‘Eternal Return’. Prior to this funding round, Nirvanana strengthened its position through a strategic partnership with Krafton, a leading global publisher. This collaboration is expected to accelerate Nirvanana’s growth and support the launch of ZETA.
Altos Ventures shared, “We were highly impressed by Nirvanana’s vision for the character strategy genre, their team’s dedication, and their exceptional game development capabilities. ZETA is a multi-platform game that bridges PCs and consoles, catering to a large fan base. We see immense potential for its expansion into the global market, which is why we decided to invest.”
Nam-seok Kim, CEO of Nirvanana, said, “This investment enables us to fast-track the development of ZETA and bring fresh, innovative experiences to gamers worldwide. Our goal is to push the boundaries of strategic gameplay, offering players deeper and more meaningful experiences.” Nirvanana plans to expand its team and recruit top talent to lead the next phase of ZETA’s development.
