[Korean Startups in CES] DEEP.FINE Wins CES 2025 Innovation Award with Groundbreaking XR Spatial Solution
DEEP.FINE, a Korean XR spatial computing platform company, has won an Innovation Award at CES 2025 in Las Vegas for their XR spatial information construction solution, ‘DSC (DEEP.FINE Spatial Crafter)’. Recognized in the XR Technologies & Accessories category, the DSC tool transforms real-world spaces into 3D environments and showcases DEEP.FINE’s technological prowess and innovative approach.
The company will demonstrate DSC at CES 2025, highlighting its ability to forge global market pathways. The DSC enables easy creation of digital spaces on mobile devices, eliminating the need for costly LiDAR equipment and specialized engineers, thanks to its patented method that reduces complexity in generating 3D maps.
This platform facilitates not only the creation and placement of AR content in 2D and 3D formats but also features a patented system for managing augmented content efficiently. The heart of DSC’s technology is the proprietary Visual Positioning System (VPS), which pinpoints user locations via images—ideal for indoor areas where GPS is unreliable.
This technology ensures stable performance in complex settings like convention centers, museums, and shopping malls. Additionally, the created spatial data is cloud-based, allowing users to share it in real-time and improve collaborative efficiency.
DEEP.FINE also used DSC in a pilot project with Seoul City and the Korea Land and Geoinformation Corporation (LX), digitally mapping around 50,000 square meters in Gwanghwamun. The technology further served to enhance visitor experiences in Seoul City libraries through its AR docent features, which guide visitors through exhibits.
Hyunbae Kim, CEO of DEEP.FINE, commented, “While the digital transformation continues to progress across diverse industries like manufacturing, construction, energy, and logistics, the high costs have been a barrier for SMEs and public agencies. DEEP.FINE has been committed to developing technologies that reduce reliance on specialized staff and cut costs by up to 80%, efforts that have culminated in this prestigious CES award.”
