KRUSH Secures Seed Funding to Expand Its Asian-Focused Global Dating Platform

Curelation, the company behind the global dating community app KRUSH for Asians, has secured seed funding from Mashup Ventures. KRUSH currently operates in major U.S. cities such as New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

The app offers a unique matching system that uses facial recognition, interests, and preferences to connect users. It also features offline small-group gatherings tailored to recent U.S. trends. Additionally, KRUSH provides a variety of entertainment features, including compatibility assessments based on traditional astrology, friend recommendations, mystery matching, and anonymous forums. These features position it as a cultural exchange hub for Asians living abroad.

Co-CEOs Kyungshin Moon, previously with Amazon and Samsung Electronics, and Sungmin Hong, who has experience at global startups like TuSimple and ProtoPie, bring a wealth of expertise to Curelation. Moon holds an MBA from Columbia University, while Hong earned his Master’s in Computer Science from NYU. Inspired by the challenges they faced while studying abroad, the two founded Curelation to create a platform where Asians living overseas can connect with ease.

Since its launch, KRUSH has experienced rapid growth, with daily active users increasing more than tenfold and 35% of users returning for five consecutive days, demonstrating high user satisfaction. Recently, KRUSH hosted regular parties in New York with over 300 attendees and collaborated with Lotte Chilsung Beverage on KRUSH beer, highlighting the company’s vibrant activities.

Kyungshin Moon, CEO of Curelation, said, “We plan to expand our services to countries with large Asian populations, including the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Australia. Our goal is to create a platform where Asians living abroad can form genuine connections and engage in meaningful communication.”

Brian Yoo, Venture Partner at Mashup Ventures, who led the investment, commented, “KRUSH is a platform uniquely designed for Asians, built on a deep understanding of their culture and values. It has the potential to grow beyond a simple dating app into a global cultural exchange community representing Asians worldwide.”
