Korean company EARTHFORM, a leader in sustainable bio-materials and a pioneer in expanding the potential of mycelium, has successfully completed its seed funding round. The investment round included participation from WOW Partners, MY Social Company (MYSC), and Bigbang Angels. The funds will be used to accelerate R&D activities, enhance production capacity, and expand into domestic and international markets.

EARTHFORM specializes in biodegradable, mycelium-based materials designed to replace expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam. Driven by its mission to create a “Sustainable Circle” that benefits both people and the planet, the company is the first in Korea to manufacture eco-friendly packaging materials made from mushroom mycelium and agricultural by-products. Initially focusing on packaging for fragrances and ceramic products, EARTHFORM plans to broaden its reach across various product categories.
The company has proven its strong business potential and growth prospects, earning the Grand Prize (Prime Minister’s Award) at the 2023 Social Venture Competition. In the same year, EARTHFORM began full-scale production in collaboration with local farmers, establishing a model of symbiosis that supports regional communities.
Looking ahead, EARTHFORM is committed to its vision of “Purely natural, fully sustainable” and “No chemicals, only nature.” The company aims to redefine industries while preserving the earth’s balance, making innovation an integral part of everyday life by developing solutions aligned with the principles of circularity and sustainability.
Taehyun Kim, CEO of WOW Partners, remarked, “EARTHFORM is a team with tremendous potential in the eco-friendly packaging and cushioning materials market. In the U.S., a similar business model by Ecovative Design has raised $58 million in funding in 2023 and 2024, achieving significant milestones. EARTHFORM is well-positioned to deliver meaningful growth while staying true to its commitment to environmental sustainability.”
Sungil Jung, CEO of EARTHFORM, shared his enthusiasm: “In the future, sustainability will no longer be an option but a necessity, both in Korea and globally. At EARTHFORM, we focus on harnessing the potential of mushroom mycelium and discarded natural materials to create solutions that adhere to the principles of circularity and sustainability. We are excited that this investment will help us take our vision to the next level.”
