Prediction Secures Seed Funding from Bluepoint for EV Battery Diagnostic Solutions

Prediction, a South Korean startup specializing in battery diagnostic solutions for electric vehicles (EVs) during charging, announced on the 22nd that it has secured seed funding from Bluepoint Partners.

Founded in February 2024, Prediction is led by Professor Dooho Kim of Kyung Hee University, an expert in computational simulations for secondary battery materials, and Professor Won-Yong Shin of Yonsei University, a leading figure in artificial intelligence.

The company’s core technology provides a battery diagnostic solution via EV chargers. It features high-precision diagnostic capabilities and battery life prediction powered by deep learning.

What sets Prediction’s solution apart is its simplicity—it requires no additional devices or complex processes, such as removing the battery from the vehicle. Battery diagnostics happen seamlessly during the charging process, enabling fast and cost-effective checks on battery health.

The global market for EV battery diagnostics and management is estimated to be worth approximately $1.37 billion (KRW 1.82 trillion) and is expected to experience rapid growth over the next decade.

Minseon Kim, Senior Analyst at Bluepoint, said, “We were impressed by the market growth potential and the innovation behind Prediction’s technology. The ability to collect data during charging and provide a full battery diagnosis in under five minutes offers a truly differentiated value proposition.”

Dooho Kim, CEO of Prediction, remarked, “Our goal is to stabilize the EV market with a consumer-focused and innovative diagnostic solution while contributing to a circular economy for batteries. This investment will allow us to strengthen our R&D capabilities and showcase the value of our technology to the market.”
