OCTOEV, the developer of SkyCharger—a rail-based, unmanned automatic EV charging infrastructure system—has secured investment from CNTTech.

Recognizing the limitations of conventional fixed EV chargers, OCTOEV has introduced a new solution that utilizes unused spaces such as parking lot ceilings and walls. By installing a rail system that allows chargers to move, SkyCharger enables a single charger to automatically charge multiple vehicles.
In the past, EV owners had to move their vehicles as soon as charging was complete. If they didn’t, other users were unable to charge their cars, often leading to inconvenience or even disputes. Despite these challenges, expanding charging infrastructure has proven difficult due to limited electrical capacity and a shortage of dedicated EV parking spaces.
To solve this, OCTOEV developed a system where the charger moves along a rail to reach each vehicle in the order of reservation. This eliminates the need for vehicle relocation and allows parking spaces to be shared with non-EVs, significantly expanding available charging spots and addressing both charging and parking issues.
In August 2024, OCTOEV signed a PoC agreement with LG Electronics to jointly develop and validate a range of charging solutions. In 2025, the company plans to roll out pilot programs with various clients. Starting with the certified 11kW slow charger, OCTOEV is expanding its product lineup to include medium-speed (DC 30kW) and 50kW fast chargers, chargers for mechanical parking structures, and bidirectional chargers. The company also plans to enter global markets through open collaboration with large corporations.
Nakyun Gong, CEO of OCTOEV, said, “SkyCharger is more than just a charger—it’s an infrastructure solution. We aim to ease the growing inconvenience of EV charging and parking through a more user-friendly system. Looking ahead, we also plan to contribute to solving energy grid challenges through V2G-based demand response (DR) solutions, supporting a more sustainable future.”
