Korean personalized food care startup MEDISOLA has raised approximately $9.6 million (KRW 13 billion) in a Series A funding round. The investment was led by Premier Partners, Samsung Venture Investment, and RedbadgePacific.

MEDISOLA was founded in December 2021 by Seungyeon Lee, who previously spearheaded the launch, marketing, sales, and operations of retail food brands such as John Cook Deli Meats, and Don-gu Lee, a former healthcare and biotech investor at KB Investment. The company had previously secured around $1.5 million (KRW 2 billion) in a Pre-Series A round last year.
The startup provides home-style food care solutions that cover both “care food” for general health maintenance and “medi-food” for more intensive, condition-specific nutritional support. Its goal is to offer sustainable health management through food.
Expanding beyond healthy meal services, MEDISOLA is currently developing ArchenX, an AI-powered healthcare platform designed to enhance diet-planning algorithms, discover new functional ingredients through data analysis, and enable digital meal prescriptions. This marks a significant step into the digital healthcare space.
Samsung Venture Investment commented, “MEDISOLA stands out as a next-generation healthcare solution company by integrating technology, data, and medicine. It is breaking the boundaries between food and medical care, and we see strong potential for market expansion through its platform and functional food developments.”
With the new funding, MEDISOLA plans to △Advance its AI-based diet design algorithms △Expand R&D in disease-targeted functional foods △Grow its health data-driven food care platform △Accelerate entry into both B2B and B2C markets.
Co-CEO Seungyeon Lee stated, “The shift toward preventive and condition-focused home-style diets is inevitable. We aim to present a nutritionally equal future for everyone, based on essential nutrients tailored to Koreans.”
Co-CEO Don-gu Lee added, “By leveraging personal health and nutrition data, MEDISOLA is bringing the ‘Food is Medicine’ philosophy to life. This funding will support our vision of becoming a global leader in personalized food care.”
