Breezm Secures USD 5.9 Million in Series B to Expand Customized Eyewear Brand

A Korean personalized eyewear brand Breezm has successfully raised approximately USD 5.9 million(KRW 8 billion) in a Series B funding round. New investors Helios Ventures and KH Venture Partners participated in the round, while Korea Development Bank (KDB), which previously invested in Breezm’s Series A round in 2023, returned as a follow-on investor. With this latest funding, Breezm’s total accumulated investment has now exceeded approximately USD 14.3 million (KRW 19.5 billion).

Launched in late 2018, Breezm utilizes 3D facial scanning, 3D printing, and big data-based recommendation algorithms to provide highly personalized eyewear. The company has demonstrated steady growth, recording more than 25,000 sales in 2023 and achieving USD 7.9 million(KRW 10.8 billion) in revenue — a 52.5% year-over-year increase and its highest annual performance to date. Breezm currently operates 12 stores across Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, and Busan, as well as an overseas location in New York City, further cementing its presence in the customized eyewear market.

With the newly raised funds, Breezm plans to accelerate its expansion efforts both domestically and internationally. In Korea, the company aims to open 7 to 8 additional stores this year, including locations in Incheon and Pyeongchon. In the United States, Breezm is preparing to launch a second store and will release an iPhone application in the second half of the year, enabling customers to order customized eyewear from home.

The company is also expediting the development of its new smart factory in Seongsu-dong, targeted to open in August. The factory will span approximately 660 square meters and will be the first in Korea to integrate the production of polyamide eyeglass frames, a retail space, and office facilities under one roof. Designed to be a local landmark, the Seongsu Smart Factory will not only showcase Breezm’s cutting-edge manufacturing system but will also offer an immersive customer experience — allowing visitors to witness the 3D printing process of custom eyewear firsthand.

Commenting on the investment, Lee Tae-yoon, CEO of Helios Ventures, stated, “With its unmatched technological capabilities, Breezm has proven over the past six years that customized eyewear holds strong growth potential both domestically and globally. We believe that as the brand gains traction in international markets such as the U.S., it will emerge as a disruptive force in the global eyewear industry.”

Breezm CEO Park Hyung-jin added, “With rising global demand for eyewear driven by issues like childhood myopia and an aging population, we are delighted to be in a position to strengthen both our scale and substance. As we enter the age of AI, we are committed to becoming a leading company that drives meaningful transformation in the global eyewear market.”
