StudioBside Raises Strategic Funding to Fuel Global Launch of Subculture Game ‘Star Savior’

StudioBside, a South Korean startup specializing in subculture game development, has secured a significant round of financial investment from multiple venture capital firms and financial institutions, including Korea Development Bank(KDB), Devsisters Ventures, Smilegate Investment, and Kona Venture Partners.

Although the exact size of the round remains undisclosed, cumulative funding for the company’s upcoming title, Star Savior, has now exceeded approximately USD 18 million(KRW 25 billion). The investment was driven by StudioBside’s proven expertise in the subculture genre and the strong global potential of its next title.

One investor commented, “StudioBside is a team with a clear vision and outstanding development capabilities. We are confident their upcoming game will leave a lasting mark not only in Korea but on the global stage. We look forward to actively supporting the studio’s continued growth.”

With this newly acquired capital, StudioBside will kick off the closed beta test (CBT) for Star Savior starting July 23, and plans to follow up with an extensive marketing campaign aimed at ensuring a successful global launch.

StudioBside CEO Ryu Geum-tae stated, “We feel an immense sense of responsibility and confidence, knowing that Korea’s leading financial and gaming partners believe in our vision and passion. With their strong support, we are committed to delivering Star Savior as a top-tier game that resonates with subculture fans around the world.”

Star Savior will debut to Korean users through the CBT on July 23, with the official global release targeted for later this year.
