RVDS(Right Values Drive Success), a Korean K-Food operating startup targeting global markets, has raised a Series A round from venture capital firms including 500 Global.
Founded on July 30, 2024, RVDS operates under the mission of “Making K-Food Part of Everyday Life,” addressing the shortage of high-quality Korean cuisine in global markets despite rising demand. While the popularity of K-Food has surged on the back of the Korean Wave (K-Pop and K-Drama), locally available brands that can consistently deliver quality, pricing, and reliability remain limited.
To close this gap, RVDS has adopted a Growth Through Acquisition (GTA) strategy, acquiring proven local F&B assets in target countries and implementing standardized operations alongside data-driven decision-making to build a scalable and replicable growth system.
With the proceeds from this round, RVDS will focus on its first hub in Southeast Asia, prioritizing structuring acquired entities, accelerating store openings in prime commercial areas, building and optimizing central kitchens (CK), executing brand renewals, including physical spaces and brand identity (BI) and establishing a digital operations infrastructure integrating POS, ERP, and collaboration tools
These initiatives aim to gradually expand a mass-market K-Food portfolio across Southeast Asia. In the medium to long term, RVDS plans to leverage its validated operational model in Southeast Asia to enter the North American market, solidifying its position as a global multi-brand operator.
Kuhyunmo Gu, Investment Associate at 500 Global, commented, “RVDS exemplifies the kind of startup we seek—teams with a clear strategy and capability to deliver meaningful results in global markets. In the fast-growing Southeast Asian consumer sector, their approach holds great promise.”
Eunmin Kwon, CEO of RVDS, stated, “While demand for K-Food is substantial, supply that meets it with everyday pricing and consistent quality is still lacking. Through post-acquisition standardization and digitalization, RVDS will create repeatable operational success and make K-Food accessible to anyone, anywhere.” She added, “We aim to cement our standing as a global K-Food multi-brand operator, starting with success in Southeast Asia.”
Building on its upcoming performance in Malaysia, RVDS plans to expand into other key Southeast Asian markets, including Thailand, Vietnam, and Singapore, with the ultimate goal of entering North America and becoming a leading player in the global K-Food industry.
