MANGOSLAB Wins CES 2026 Best of Innovation Award with AI Braille Printer
MANGOSLAB, a startup spun off from Samsung Electronics‘ C-Lab, won the Best of Innovation award at CES 2026 with its AI-powered braille label printer ‘Nemonic Dot.’

This marks the company’s return to CES glory after winning its first Best of Innovation award in 2017 with the adhesive memo printer ‘Nemonic,’ proving its innovative DNA as a Korean startup.
‘Nemonic Dot’ is the world’s first AI braille printer that allows even those unfamiliar with braille to print braille labels using voice commands. Users can make voice requests via smartphone, and the AI automatically converts over 100 languages into standard braille for immediate printing. Its palm-sized compact design and built-in battery enable use anywhere, anytime, ensuring portability.
MANGOSLAB implemented a proprietary printing mechanism that uniformly and precisely produces braille dots at national standard heights (0.5-0.6mm), significantly improving tactile recognition accuracy compared to existing products. In particular, it is the world’s first portable device to directly emboss braille on metal labels, solving cost burdens, typos, and braille size inconsistencies that occurred with traditional molding methods, dramatically improving information accessibility for the visually impaired.
Additionally, the company has fully opened its API and SDK, allowing pharmacies, public facilities, educational institutions, and businesses to easily integrate braille printing functions into existing apps or kiosk systems. The structure enables expansion beyond a simple printing device into a ‘braille accessibility platform.’
Spun off from Samsung Electronics’ in-house venture program C-Lab in 2016, MANGOSLAB has half its team with experience in Samsung Electronics printer and mobile phone development. Based on this technical expertise, the company has achieved its third CES award with ‘Nemonic Dot,’ following the adhesive memo printer ‘Nemonic’ (Best of Innovation) in 2017 and hair device ‘STI’ (Innovation Award) in 2023. Notably, ‘Nemonic’ has proven market viability with cumulative sales exceeding 240,000 units and revenue surpassing KRW 25 billion (approximately USD 18 million) over the past decade.
MANGOSLAB plans to actively target the global braille printing market, valued at KRW 3.4 trillion (approximately USD 2.4 billion) annually, starting from the first half of next year, leveraging sales and distribution experience gained in the US, Japan, and Taiwan markets with its first product ‘Nemonic.’
Deputy CEO Haneul Yoon stated, “We hope braille becomes not just a script for the visually impaired, but an everyday language where everyone shares information,” adding, “We will continue platform innovation that breaks down accessibility barriers with AI technology.”
Jongho Lee, Managing Director at Smilegate Investment, which invested in the company’s Series A round in 2022, evaluated, “They are a team with strong technical moats through global-level micro thermal control technology, penetrating various large markets from post-it printers to hair dryers to braille printers, showing great J-curve growth potential.”
