WithPoints Secures $2.77M Pre-Series A to Expand Modular Robot Automation Platform

Korean robotics startup WithPoints has raised $2.77 million (4 billion KRW) in pre-Series A funding led by Crit Ventures. The round also saw participation from Futureplay, We Ventures, and D.Camp (Banks Foundation for Young Entrepreneurs), with Crit Ventures investing $1.04 million (1.5 billion KRW).

WithPoints develops and operates WeNect, a modular robot automation platform based on 3D vision processing and robot control technology that automates repetitive non-standard tasks such as welding and inspection in manufacturing facilities.

Traditional industrial robots have struggled with flexibility when handling complex, non-standard tasks, requiring additional time and costs for any work modifications, which has led to productivity losses. WeNect addresses these limitations through algorithms that enable robots to autonomously recognize positions and shapes while performing tasks, combined with a modular structure applicable to various manufacturing processes. The platform delivers stable automation even in challenging conditions such as reflective surfaces, high temperatures, and vibration environments.

Crit Ventures decided to invest after evaluating WithPoints’ accumulated field-based data, non-standard task response capabilities, multi-hardware compatibility, and template-based scalability, recognizing its competitiveness in the global robotics market.

With this funding, WithPoints plans to focus on advancing the WeNect product, launching new non-standard task solutions for assembly, painting, and disassembly, accelerating domestic and international partner expansion and overseas market entry, and strengthening industry-specific automation templates and datasets.

“WithPoints is a team with proven technical capabilities in industrial settings and sophisticated 3D vision and robot automation expertise,” said a Crit Ventures representative. “We expect them to grow rapidly in the wave of AI and robotics-based smart manufacturing and logistics transformation.”

Dongkyun Cho, CEO of WithPoints, stated, “As robot automation demand is increasing significantly across countries and industries, we will enhance technical completeness and field applicability to strengthen our position in the global automation market.”
