Bluepoint and POSCO Launch Enforus to Commercialize Advanced Hydrogen Technology

Bluepoint Partners has launched Enforus, a next-generation Solid Oxide Electrolysis Cell (SOEC) solution company, through a company-building partnership with POSCO Holdings.

The venture marks a fresh approach to commercializing corporate technology—pairing POSCO Holdings’ world-class SOEC technology with Bluepoint’s company-building expertise to accelerate market entry.

Enforus brings high-efficiency SOEC stack technology that produces more hydrogen at the same current density than competing systems. SOEC technology uses high-temperature electrolysis to split water into hydrogen, delivering significantly better energy efficiency than conventional alkaline methods—a key enabler for carbon neutrality goals.

The partnership gives Enforus independent decision-making authority while retaining access to POSCO’s deep technical resources. It’s designed to combine the best of both worlds: corporate technology proven over years of development, with the speed and flexibility startups need to adapt quickly to market shifts.

To ensure both technical credibility and business execution, Dr. Jinsu Ahn has taken the helm as CEO. Dr. Ahn led SOEC research at RIST (Pohang Institute of Industrial Science and Technology), POSCO’s applied research arm, and brings the core research team with him to Enforus.

POSCO Holdings and Bluepoint provided seed funding at launch and plan to support Enforus’ growth going forward. The two partners collaborated throughout the process, from identifying the technology opportunity through to establishing the company.

“Enforus shows what’s possible when you combine corporate tech assets with startup-style company building,” said Insung Lee, head of Bluepoint’s Venture Studio Group. “We’re focused on bridging the gap between breakthrough technology and real markets—what we call ‘zero stage’ innovation.”

Enforus’ SOEC technology is expected to play a central role in POSCO Group’s push toward carbon neutrality by 2050.
