Postmath, a South Korean edutech startup behind the AI-powered math tutoring service Suhaek Biseo (“Math Secretary”), has raised approximately $1.25 million (KRW 1.86 billion) in a new funding round led by East Gate Partners. The investment is not only aimed at securing operating capital but also carries a strategic dimension — positioning the company for selection in the Scale-Up TIPS program, a prestigious government-backed R&D support scheme, expected in the third quarter of this year.

Alongside the funding, Postmath acquired four B200 servers equipped with 32 GPUs through a government support program this month, giving the company access to top-tier AI infrastructure. With both the capital and hardware now in place, Postmath is significantly strengthening its competitive position in the AI education market. The move is also seen as a strategic stepping stone toward securing large-scale government R&D funding programs planned for the second half of the year.
The new infrastructure will have a direct impact on the technical advancement of Postmath’s AI-powered education solutions. AI applications in educational settings demand substantial computing power to deliver personalized data analysis and real-time feedback for individual students. The introduction of high-performance GPUs is expected to dramatically improve both the accuracy and response speed of the company’s solutions.
Postmath has already demonstrated its technical credibility and commercialization potential by graduating from the TIPS R&D program — a leading early-stage startup support initiative — with an outstanding rating. Its workforce, including domestic and overseas contractors, now exceeds 120 people.
“Our track record of graduating from TIPS with excellence, combined with our strong human resources, will serve as a significant advantage in the evaluation process for large-scale government support programs,” the company said.
