Autonomous Freight Startup Gatik Secures $200 Million Series D Funding

Gatik, a leading autonomous trucking company, has raised $200 million in Series D funding to meet the rapidly growing demand for driverless commercial freight operations across the supply chains of Fortune 50 retailers, grocery distributors, and consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies.

Autonomous Freight Startup Gatik Secures $200 Million Series D Funding

The round was co-led by Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) and Koch Disruptive Technologies (KDT), with participation from Millennium Management, ARK Invest, and Intact Private Capital.

Gatik has built one of the most commercially advanced operations in autonomous freight transport. The company has secured over $600 million in contracted revenue, completed 85,000 fully driverless deliveries, and achieved a 99% on-time delivery rate across its operations. Gatik’s trucks transport goods in high-frequency middle-mile networks connecting distribution centers to retail stores, enabling customers to reliably add capacity, improve service levels, and maintain continuous product flow.

“This funding round, led by some of the world’s preeminent financial institutions, clearly validates Gatik’s commercial leadership in autonomous freight,” said Gautam Narang, co-founder and CEO of Gatik. “It provides the capital we need to scale our business with speed and discipline, serve the world’s largest companies, and define the future of autonomous freight.”

Abdullah Al-Kuwari, head of the industrials sector at QIA, said, “Autonomous freight is transforming the global logistics industry, enhancing efficiency and reliability. QIA is committed to supporting next-generation solution providers like Gatik that are shaping the future of freight infrastructure.”

Byron Knight, president of Koch Disruptive Technologies, commented, “We are witnessing autonomous technology move from a promising technology phase to actual commercial operations. Gatik has demonstrated a pragmatic approach to this transition, and we look forward to supporting the company’s continued growth.”

The new capital will enable Gatik to expand its model focused on high-frequency middle-mile routes between distribution centers and stores. These routes are time-sensitive and operationally complex, and they are essential to keeping store shelves stocked as customers expect faster and more predictable access to everyday goods.

“Autonomous freight is reaching an inflection point as AI and robotics converge to transform the transportation ecosystem,” said Cathie Wood, founder, CEO, and chief investment officer of ARK Invest. “Gatik has proven that autonomous trucking is moving beyond experimentation into commercially viable operations with expanding customer adoption.”

Justin Smith-Lorenzetti, managing director at Intact Private Capital, explained, “We tripled our investment in this latest round based on our conviction that Gatik has the execution track record, customer traction, and technology maturity to become the leader in autonomous freight in North America.”

Gatik’s AI-first autonomous vehicle (AV) technology is purpose-built for autonomous trucking on highways and surface streets. The company’s driverless trucks leverage dynamic routing to help customers respond to changing demand, distribution center operations, and pickup and delivery needs across commercial networks.

Gatik currently operates dozens of driverless trucks across North America and plans to scale this fleet to thousands in the coming years.

“Since our initial investment in Gatik in 2021, we have watched the company scale around a focused and highly practical model of autonomous technology deployment,” said Celeste Downer, managing director at Koch Disruptive Technologies. “Our decision to invest again at this stage reflects our confidence in Gatik’s business model and the significant opportunity that exists in the autonomous freight market going forward.”

Tasha Keeney, director of investment analysis and research for autonomous technology and robotics at ARK Invest, noted, “Autonomous trucking is expected to meaningfully reduce the cost of moving goods and reshape the modern supply chain. Gatik is leading this transformation by bringing driverless technology to middle-mile networks and creating customer value.”

Gatik operates driverless trucks daily for Fortune 50 retailers, grocery distributors, and CPG companies, transporting freight between distribution centers and stores across Texas, Arizona, Arkansas, and Canada. The company maintains a strong safety record across its operations, powered by Gatik Driver—a scalable and interpretable AI system purpose-built to enable safe, consistent, high-frequency freight operations.
