Class 101 Transforms into a Full-Fledged Creator Platform with New Funding

South Korea-based Class 101, an all-in-one content platform for creators, has raised an additional KRW 15 billion (approximately USD 11 million) in investment. This follows a KRW 16 billion bridge round in November last year as part of its Series B funding, bringing the company’s total funding to approximately KRW 79 billion.

The latest investment round was led by Silicon Valley-based Goodwater Capital, with participation from existing investors Mirae Asset Venture Investment, Mirae Asset Capital, Strong Ventures, and SBVA. New investors Gowid, Delight Investment, Prologue Ventures, and Puzzle Investment Korea also joined.

Celebrating its 9th anniversary this year, Class 101 has been focused on enhancing the user experience, achieving sustained profitability since March. The company expects to record its first-ever annual profit this year, with projected operating profits exceeding KRW 2 billion.

With this new funding, Class 101 plans to bring on more top-tier creators and further strengthen its brand as a leading all-in-one creator content platform. The company is also working on deepening the connection between creators and their audiences, with plans to launch the “Creator Home” by the end of the year. This feature will allow creators not only to offer classes but also to engage with subscribers through communication and merchandise sales.

Ahead of the full launch, Class 101 is piloting “Creator Home” with major creators like “Sunhan Buja Organic” and “Professor Kim Nando.” The platform will include features like “Community,” where creators and students can participate in challenges, Q&A sessions, and attendance tracking, along with real-time interactive classes through the “101 Club.”

Jinseok Oh, a partner at Goodwater Capital, commented, “Class 101 is a market leader in the knowledge content sector in both Korea and Japan, with no significant competitors. Its unique traffic and brand power give it a strong competitive edge, and we have high expectations for the future of its services.”

Dae-sun Gong, CEO of Class 101, said, “We are committed to creating an online space that meets the needs of creators through our Creator Home service. Our goal is to foster deeper communication with students and maximize the learning experience.”
