ZERO ONE Secures Seed Funding to Advance Food Waste Circular Economy Solutions

South Korean startup ZERO ONE, which provides food waste circular economy solutions through Sulmo and Dambi, has secured seed funding from Bluepoint Partners.

ZERO ONE offers Sulmo, an outsourced processing service based on waste reduction centers, and Dambi, a high-speed food waste reduction device. These solutions prevent the decay of food waste, lower processing costs, and create new value from waste materials.

In particular, the company dries food waste before it begins to decay, enhancing its value as a recyclable resource. This drying process also reduces transportation weight, cuts carbon emissions, and contributes to combating global warming.

Sewon Cho, CEO of ZERO ONE, remarked, “We live in an era where we can create value from discarded materials. At ZERO ONE, we aim not only to manage food waste but to build a circular economy that generates new opportunities and value.”

He added, “This investment brings us closer to achieving the first two stages of our three-phase food waste circular economy model: initial drying and improving the efficiency of waste distribution. Our mission is to introduce a new circular economy model to the waste management market, where today’s leftovers become tomorrow’s seeds.”

ZERO ONE was also selected as part of the 6th cohort of IBK Changgong Daejeon, an innovation startup support program run by IBK.
