VIVIDENT Gains $1.5M Funding to Revolutionize Virtual Character IP with Generative AI
South Korean generative AI-based character IP startup VIVIDENT announced on the 22nd that it has secured $1.5 million (approximately KRW 2 billion) in seed funding. Investors include Hashed, Mashup Ventures, TheVentures, and global funds such as Sfermion (U.S.), Z Venture Capital (Japan), Decima Fund, and Titan Fund (Hong Kong).

VIVIDENT is using generative AI to create and nurture animation-style virtual characters. The company is currently developing ‘MoeLive’, an interactive platform that allows users to engage with these characters, and plans to launch its beta version in the first half of this year.
CEO Gyu-dae Kim, who previously led the launch marketing for Npixel‘s ‘GRAN SAGA’ and managed successful game studio investments at Krafton and UNOPND, founded the company alongside a team with extensive experience in South Korea’s gaming and entertainment technology industries.
Unlike traditional virtual character models, which rely on human operators, VIVIDENT uses AI to create fully autonomous virtual characters. These characters support real-time live streaming and multi-user interaction, overcoming limitations in existing business models. The company aims to deliver a unique entertainment experience that combines Japanese anime and Korean K-pop culture.
Eunwoo Park, Partner at Mashup Ventures, remarked, “VIVIDENT’s experienced team is leveraging AI technology to redefine the virtual character market. We believe they will lead the global AI entertainment market, aligning with the rapid growth of K-content.”
CEO Gyu-dae Kim added, “Our goal goes beyond simply creating AI characters. We aim to develop a new form of character IP that seamlessly integrates technology, content, and community. Following this investment, we will focus on completing ‘MoeLive’ and aim to launch simultaneously in South Korea, Japan, and the U.S. later this year.”
