Studio Galilei, a Korean mobility platform startup, announced on the 22nd that it has successfully closed its Pre-Series A2 funding round. The investment amount was not disclosed.
The round saw participation from major investors, including CNTTECH, NBH Capital, KOSNET Technology Investment, Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, IBK Capital and INTOPS Investment. These investors highly praised Studio Galilei’s globally top-tier DRT (Demand Responsive Transit) platform technology and operational capabilities, particularly noting its rapid business achievements in the domestic public transit DRT market, where it holds a technological edge over competitors.
DRT refers to a Demand Responsive Transit system.
Studio Galilei has successfully launched tourism-focused DRT and autonomous DRT services both domestically and internationally, expanding its business reach. The ‘Tabara’ service, operating in Busan’s Gijang County since September 2023, is a notable success in tourism DRT. Since September 2024, the company has also been operating the ‘Tabayong’ service in the Giheung Station–Korean Folk Village area in Yongin.
In August 2024, the company launched a pilot tourism DRT service in Chiang Mai, Thailand, targeting Korean tourists, with plans to expand to local foreign tourists this year. Additionally, Studio Galilei has partnered with Kakao Mobility, Korea’s largest mobility company, to supply DRT platforms for autonomous vehicles, leading the development and commercialization of next-generation mobility technologies.
With this funding, Studio Galilei plans to aggressively enter global DRT markets, including Japan and Thailand, while expanding private-sector B2B and B2C DRT services domestically. The company also aims to strengthen its internal capabilities by recruiting top talent for R&D and business development.
Hyun-myeong Kim, CEO of Studio Galilei, stated, “This investment will serve as a stepping stone for Studio Galilei to leap forward in the global mobility market. We will continue to provide convenient and efficient mobility services to users worldwide through innovative technology development and service expansion, contributing to the advancement of the mobility industry both domestically and internationally.”
