Gangnamunni Secures $32M to Scale Its Global Aesthetic Medical Platform
Healing Paper, the Korean startup behind the aesthetic medical platform Gangnamunni, announced on the 17th that it has completed a $32 million (KRW 42.8 billion) Series C funding round.
The round was led by Korea Investment Partners, Shinhan Venture Investment, KT Investment, IMM Investment, and Kiwoom Investment, with follow-up investments from Premier Partners, Intervest, Aju IB Investment, and DSC Investment. Korea Investment Partners will also be joining the board of directors.
With this investment, Gangnamunni plans to accelerate its growth as a global aesthetic medical platform. Since expanding internationally in November 2019, starting with Japan, the platform has been offering hospital reservation services for both foreign patients visiting Korean hospitals and local users seeking treatment at Japanese clinics. In November last year, it launched a Thai-language version of its global service, UNNI, and is currently expanding its presence in Thailand.
Gangnamunni is also set to further develop its B2B solutions for aesthetic medical clinics. By providing specialized tools such as CRM software and photography equipment tailored for these clinics, the company aims to enhance customer management and marketing efficiency for medical providers.
An investor in this round commented, “Gangnamunni deeply understands the challenges faced by both aesthetic medical customers and clinics, and they have the expertise and experience to address these issues. The platform has already demonstrated strong performance in Korea and Japan, and we believe it has the potential to become a global leader. We are committed to supporting its success in the international market.”
Hong Seung-il, CEO of Healing Paper, stated, “With this investment, Gangnamunni will continue improving the customer experience while addressing information asymmetry in the global aesthetic medical industry. At the same time, we aim to promote Korea’s unmatched competitiveness in aesthetic medicine worldwide and contribute to the industry’s growth.”
Since its launch in 2015, Gangnamunni has served 7 million users through its multilingual platform, available in Korean, Japanese, English, and Thai.
