Korea’s AI robotics company, Portal301, announced that it has secured a pre-Series A investment of approximately $1.1 million (KRW 1.5 billion) from Stonebridge Ventures and Schmidt. The funding will be used to recruit top talent and enhance its software algorithms.

With the recent trend of U.S. manufacturing reshoring, more companies are relocating their factories to the U.S. These companies are exploring automation robots to reduce costs and improve productivity. However, the complexity of robot programming and high implementation costs often pose significant challenges.
Founded in 2022, Portal301 specializes in AI robotics, focusing on enabling robotic automation for enterprises. The company is led by key personnel, including Ph.D. holders in mechanical engineering from Seoul National University and experts with international academic backgrounds, making it a highly specialized player in robot software.
Portal301’s core product, ‘SyncRo’, is an AI-powered robotics software solution designed to significantly streamline the automation process. SyncRo equips robots with human-like cognitive abilities, enabling them to take on hazardous and complex tasks, ultimately reducing the burden on human workers.
Recently, Portal301 successfully completed a proof of concept (PoC) by supplying Soosan Heavy Industries with an automated robotic system for nuclear waste decontamination. The company is now preparing for mass production of the system. Additionally, major corporations such as Hyundai Engineering & Construction have requested proof-of-concept demonstrations, further highlighting Portal301’s strong technological capabilities.
Cho Hyun-hoo, Team Leader at Stonebridge Ventures, who led the investment, stated, “Success in robotic automation isn’t just about technology; it requires meeting real-world demands and delivering proven solutions. Portal301 excels in product development through real-world validation and rapid market adoption, positioning itself as a key player in the future of industrial automation.”
Portal301 CEO Park Jang-jun added, “Portal301 will continue driving innovation in AI robotics, a major industry megatrend. Beyond our current applications, such as powder coating and abrasive decontamination, we aim to lead in surface treatment processes across industries that require robotic automation.”
