Korea-Japan Startup Forum Successfully Held, Strengthening Bilateral Collaboration


The Korea Startup Forum(KSF) and DLG, a Korea’s Law Corporation, successfully co-hosted the Korea-Japan Startup Forum on the 25th at Shibuya Startup Support, a global startup support organization in Tokyo, Japan.

The forum was organized to foster exchange and collaboration between Korean and Japanese startups and promote the expansion of the startup ecosystem. It was jointly hosted by DLG Law Corp. and KSF, with support from Shibuya Startup Support and the Asan Nanum Foundation.

Approximately 40 participants attended the forum, including representatives from startup support organizations, venture capital (VCs), financial institutions, and startup companies from both countries. Under the theme of “New Networks, New Markets,” the forum featured presentations on the current state of the startup ecosystems in Korea and Japan, the sharing of success stories, discussions on global market entry strategies, and networking sessions.

Han Sang-woo, Chairman of the Korea Startup Forum, stated, “Korea and Japan have unique and complementary strengths in their respective startup ecosystems. Through continued cooperative efforts, we can significantly contribute to the growth of both nations’ startup industries. KSF will take the lead in strengthening cross-border cooperation and networks, particularly in emerging sectors such as AI, robotics, healthcare, and blockchain.”

Um Yun-mi, Chairperson of the Asan Nanum Foundation, emphasized the importance of supporting young entrepreneurs with innovative ideas and a spirit of challenge, saying, “It is crucial to help these young founders grow on a larger, global stage. The Asan Nanum Foundation will actively support the expansion of the startup ecosystem and the establishment of global networks to facilitate their entry into international markets.”

Kim Hong-young, Head of the Global Business Support Center at DLG Law Corp., expressed hopes for the forum, stating, “We expect this event to strengthen collaboration between Korean and Japanese startups and provide tangible support for Korean startups seeking to enter the Japanese market.”

The Korea-Japan Startup Forum marked a significant step in enhancing bilateral cooperation and building a stronger startup ecosystem across the two countries.
