CloudN, a South Korean startup specializing in AI-powered Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS), has been selected as the second portfolio company of the “Ansan Youth Startup Fund,” securing an investment of approximately USD 890,000 (KRW 1.2 billion).

Founded in 2015, CloudN has spent the past decade developing cutting-edge technologies in the field of smart building energy management, backed by government and academic research initiatives. The company has established itself as an innovative player with expertise in wireless IoT and AI-based cloud optimization control. CloudN independently developed and operates an integrated building management platform that oversees heating, ventilation, air conditioning, lighting, and other core facility systems.
Utilizing wireless IoT sensors, the platform collects real-time data that is automatically analyzed and controlled by AI in the cloud. This enables significant reductions in both energy costs and carbon emissions. The system supports clients in lowering operational expenses while effectively meeting ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management goals. In 2024, the company expanded its offerings to include a Factory Energy Management System (FEMS) with life cycle assessment (LCA) capabilities for manufacturing facilities such as automobile production plants.
The Ansan Youth Startup Fund, which selected CloudN for investment, is an initiative launched by Ansan City in late 2022 with a target size of approximately USD 74 million(KRW 100 billion) to support young entrepreneurs. The fund is jointly managed by S Ventures and HB Investment, which together oversee a total of approximately USD 77 million(KRW 104.6 billion) across the first and second fund series. Ansan City has completed the necessary administrative procedures, including central investment review and city council approval, to launch the third fund in the second half of this year.
Do Seung-hwan, Co-CEO of S Ventures, which manages the first Ansan Youth Startup Fund, commented, “CloudN demonstrates strong competitiveness in commercial building energy management and maintenance of small to medium-sized facilities. With its successful POC(Proof-of-Concept) projects in countries like Thailand and Vietnam, we see great potential for its evolution into a global enterprise.”
Kim Jeong-seok, CEO of CloudN, stated, “Leveraging a decade of accumulated proprietary technology and experience, we have proven our technical edge both domestically and in overseas markets such as Southeast Asia. This investment from Ansan City will help us further improve our capabilities and strengthen our position as a leader in the global energy management industry.”
Ansan Mayor Lee Min-geun remarked, “Youth entrepreneurship is the driving force behind Ansan’s future. We will continue to offer unwavering support to innovative startups like CloudN so that young entrepreneurs can pursue bold ideas and generate new value through innovation.”
