Dnotitia Raises $63.4M Series A to Scale AI Storage Business Built on Proprietary Vector Chip

Dnotitia, a Korean startup specializing in long-term memory AI and semiconductor-integrated solutions, has closed a Series A round worth approximately $63.4M (KRW 90 billion).

The round was led by Elohim Partners, with participation from new investors including Kiwoom Investment, Starting Line, Maple Investment Partners, Daesung Private Equity, Shinhan Venture Investment, and Ulmus Investment. Existing backers Kolon Investment, HB Investment, Tony Investment, and SJ Investment Partners also joined as follow-on investors.

Dnotitia is building its AI storage business around two core technologies: Seahorse, a proprietary vector database, and the VDPU (Vector Data Processing Unit), which the company claims is the world’s first semiconductor designed exclusively for vector data processing. The VDPU is engineered to eliminate data processing bottlenecks in generative AI environments, with a focus on accelerating data retrieval and processing-layer operations.

In March, the company unveiled its “AI Storage” strategy — an architecture that integrates external knowledge, long-term memory, and short-term working memory into a unified data stack. The vision is to give generative AI systems not just a place to store data, but the infrastructure to retrieve and act on it rapidly when needed.

Commercialization is progressing on both fronts. Seahorse received a Grade 1 GS (Good Software) certification in January and launched as a cloud SaaS product in March. The VDPU completed tape-out in December 2024, and the company is currently running proof-of-concept projects with global storage and server manufacturers ahead of a planned product unveiling in the second half of this year, with mass production to follow. Proceeds from this round will be directed toward advancing both Seahorse and the VDPU, expanding global operations, and recruiting key talent.

“With this investment, we will accelerate our AI storage business centered on Seahorse and the VDPU, and establish Dnotitia as a cornerstone of next-generation AI infrastructure,” said Mugyeong Jeong, CEO of Dnotitia.

The company is also preparing for an IPO, having appointed KOREA INVESTMENT & SECURITIES and Shinhan Investment & Securities as co-lead underwriters.
