JLABS Lands $8.1M Pre-IPO Round to Fund Missile Defense Localization and IPO Push

JLABS, a South Korean startup specializing in RF modules for defense systems, has closed a Series B pre-IPO round worth $8.1M (KRW 12 billion). E&F Private Equity and Kiwoom Capital participated in the round.

Investors cited JLABS’ growth potential and technical strength as key reasons behind the round. Earlier this year, the company signed a cooperation agreement with LIG D&A (LIG Defense & Aerospace) to jointly develop the Cheongung-III (M-SAM Block-III) missile defense system. Through the partnership, JLABS aims to raise the localization rate of the system’s components and secure a more stable supply chain.

JLABS plans to channel the new capital into securing future growth engines, with a focus on strengthening its research and development capabilities and building out mass-production infrastructure to sharpen its technological competitiveness. The company also intends to use the funding to accelerate preparations for an initial public offering.

“This funding round is a meaningful achievement, as it reflects recognition of JLABS’ technology and global growth potential,” said Junhak Seok, chief executive officer of JLABS. “We will work closely with our lead underwriter, Samsung Securities, to keep our listing process on track, while pushing forward with technological innovation and stable mass production to meet the market’s expectations.”
