Medicall Raises Seed Funding to Expand AI Phone Assistant Platform for Dental Clinics

Medicall, the operator of DentalCall, an AI-powered phone assistant for dental clinics, announced August 14 that it has secured seed funding from AI Angel Club, CNTTech, TaleVentures, and Antler Korea.

The company did not disclose the amount. Medicall plans to use the proceeds to enhance its product, expand its sales and partner network, and grow its team.

Medicall is building a healthcare-specific platform that connects AI agents across the full spectrum of medical-practice operations—from phone reception and appointment scheduling to patient consultation, recall campaigns, patient management, and marketing. Starting with DentalCall, the company plans to roll out AI agents for each operational task and link them organically within a single platform.

DentalCall handles 24-hour inbound call reception at dental offices, automating appointment booking, changes, and cancellations, patient inquiries, and consultation summaries. The service responds to patient calls during lunch hours, evenings, and weekends, and suggests available time slots based on clinic schedules and provider availability to complete actual bookings.

The platform also supports outbound patient management for existing patients. It automates recall reminders for scaling and regular checkups, post-treatment satisfaction calls, and return-visit notifications, helping practices manage the entire patient journey from initial inquiries to follow-up care.

Medicall has already secured paying customers in global markets. The company currently provides AI agent services to a major telecommunications company in Thailand and large healthcare institutions in the Philippines, demonstrating business viability and localization potential overseas.

AI Angel Club chairman Sungho Choi, who led the round, said, “DentalCall accurately identifies real issues faced in dental clinics and solves them with AI technology. We rated the product’s practical utility and the Medicall team’s execution capability highly.”

Medicall CEO Ineuk Moon said, “Medicall is not a company that automates a single task. We are creating a new operational model in which AI agents responsible for each area of patient management and medical-institution operations collaborate within one platform. Starting with DentalCall, we will expand into an AI agent platform that supports the full range of medical-practice operations.”

Medicall plans to expand its overseas business based on its experience in the Korean dental market and references from paying global customers in Thailand and the Philippines, with the goal of growing into a global AI agent platform that connects patient management and the full spectrum of medical-practice operations.

Healthcare AI companies have recently attracted a wave of investment as the sector expands. Non-invasive point-of-care diagnostics platform ALLMADE raised pre-Series A funding from Kookmin University Technology Holdings and Minitab Brooks Ventures, while medical AI company Mediqstar closed a pre-Series B round from Genaxis to accelerate overseas deployment of its TB diagnostic solution.
