AI Platform Wrtn Technologies Raises $76M Series C at Over $760M Valuation

Wrtn Technologies Inc., a South Korean AI service platform company, has raised approximately $76 million (100 billion won) in a Series C funding round, becoming the first domestic AI service startup to surpass a $760 million (1 trillion won) valuation, the company announced on August 26.

The investment brings Wrtn’s cumulative funding to approximately $175 million (230 billion won).

The round was led by U.S.-based Coreline Ventures and EUGENE ASSET MANAGEMENT, with participation from existing investors Goodwater Capital, Antler Global, Woori Venture Partners, Sui Generis Partners, Korea Development Bank, and Capstone Partners. Coreline Ventures, headquartered in Menlo Park with an office in Tokyo, focuses on consumer and B2B technology companies across Korea, the U.S., and Japan, with a portfolio that includes Kakao and Happy Elements’ Ensemble Stars.

“Wrtn is becoming a global phenomenon,” said Osuke Honda, co-founder and partner at Coreline Ventures. “Its platform is leading an entire consumer AI movement that fundamentally transforms how people create, communicate, and spend time online. The combination of exceptional growth, rapid monetization, and the ecosystem impact Wrtn is already generating in Korea, Japan, and the U.S. is rare. We have strong conviction in Wrtn’s unique team capabilities and enormous growth opportunity ahead.”

Wrtn’s AI entertainment content platform OOC, launched in North America in May, surpassed $7.6 million (10 billion won) in monthly revenue within three months, pushing the company’s overseas revenue above domestic sales and demonstrating the global competitiveness of Korean AI services. Driven by this explosive international expansion, Wrtn expects total revenue to exceed $152 million (200 billion won) this year, up from $36 million (47.1 billion won) in 2025.

Beyond financial growth, Wrtn established a User Committee in July composed of experts in AI ethics and philosophy, cognitive psychology, and law to strengthen user protection and service safety. The company is also participating in the Korea Internet Self-governance Organization (KISO)’s effort to establish self-regulatory guidelines for AI character chatbot services.

Wrtn is preparing enhanced youth protection measures for its AI entertainment content platform Crack, where users under 18 account for approximately 10 percent of the user base. The company is considering policies such as usage time limits, strengthened parental consent procedures, and lowered payment caps, with a comprehensive announcement planned once detailed plans are finalized.

“Over the past five years since founding, we have established ourselves as Korea’s leading AI service company and proven our global competitiveness, culminating in this successful investment round,” said Wrtn CEO Seyoung Lee. “We will focus on global expansion and service advancement to meet market expectations, and grow faster as a safe and trusted AI service company.”

The Series C positions Wrtn alongside other Korean content-platform companies scaling AI-powered creator and entertainment tools. In June, THE SMC raised $13 million in pre-IPO funding to advance its AI-powered creator marketing platform, while in April, Mateo AI Studio secured pre-Series A investment to scale its AI-native content studio developing original IP and production technology.
