South Korean company Cinamon, the developer of the 3D-based AI video solution CINEV, announced on the 5th that it has secured a new investment of approximately $8.2 million (KRW 11 billion). The funding round included participation from Altos Ventures and Saehan Venture Capital, with Altos Ventures making its second investment in the company. Cinamon has once again secured large-scale funding, following its previous round in 2022, thanks to its unique technology and strong business scalability.

Cinamon is a video production startup that blends AI and 3D technology in a hybrid approach. Since its founding in 2019, the company has focused on advancing technology in the interactive gaming sector. Its latest solution, CINEV, transforms user-generated stories into fully realized videos within a virtual 3D space using AI. Users can customize every aspect of the production, from actors’ performances to camera work, lighting, and backgrounds. This innovation is expected to pave the way for a new type of creative studio business, empowering anyone to become a filmmaker and a one-person production company.
CINEV first constructs a 3D physical space and then individually implements elements such as characters, actions, lighting, and cameras. This approach addresses key weaknesses of existing generative AI video services—maintaining consistency, preserving physical realism, and enabling precise editing. As a result, CINEV is seen as a more stable and reliable solution. In fact, the global AI industry, particularly in the U.S., has recently been paying close attention to “Physical AI” models that take real-world physics and interactions into account. By ensuring consistency and physical accuracy, AI-generated videos can reduce distortion and the uncanny valley effect while expanding AI’s potential applications. Given this trend, CINEV’s technology is expected to offer strong scalability.
A Cinamon representative stated, “We are thrilled that this investment will give us the momentum to compete in the global AI market. Our focus for the first half of this year is to ensure a smooth launch of the service and showcase the unique usability and convenience that only CINEV can offer.”
Altos Ventures commented, “The Cinamon team has spent years refining its 3D production expertise and successfully integrated it with AI. By identifying and addressing the intricate details that AI traditionally struggles with, they have developed not just a technology demo but a true creative tool for content creators. We believe CINEV has the potential to redefine video production and content creation, which is why we decided to invest.”
Cinamon has previously secured investments from NAVER affiliates, including NAVER Webtoon, SNOW, and NAVER Z, as well as from Krafton, thanks to its strong technology and business potential. In August of last year, the company was also selected for the NVIDIA Inception Program. Moving forward, Cinamon plans to aggressively expand into the global market, offering a diverse range of video content styles, from live-action to animation.
