ByTeams, a South Korean startup developing AI agents to streamline developer operations, has raised $1 million (approx. KRW 1.4 billion) in pre-seed funding. The round was led by Silicon Valley-based deep tech investor 10vc, with participation from Korean early-stage VC Mashup Ventures.

ByTeams provides an AI agent that automates key responsibilities of Technical Program Managers (TPMs) — including scheduling, technical research, risk management, meeting facilitation, and reporting — within software development teams.
The AI parses GitHub code and synthesizes findings with team tools like Slack and Jira, enabling clear visibility into project progress for all stakeholders. It detects duplicate work and bottlenecks across collaborating teams, aiming to boost efficiency and allow developers to focus on coding.
CEO Jake Kim, who previously led development and project management at Apple, co-founded ByTeams with Anurag Kapale, an AI researcher formerly at Amazon, after experiencing operational inefficiencies firsthand. Kim also founded xApple, a founder community of ex-Apple employees, and brings deep expertise across both technology and business.
Despite being pre-launch, ByTeams has already drawn interest from several U.S. unicorn startups and major Korean enterprises. The company plans to use the funds to recruit top-tier talent from Big Tech and refine its solution to better address communication breakdowns and productivity losses in tech teams.
Brian Yoo, Partner at Mashup Ventures, commented, “As developer productivity tools grow in popularity, the complexity of project management is also increasing. ByTeams is well-positioned to address this with a highly executable and experienced team.”
CEO Jake Kim added, “ByTeams is tackling one of the core inefficiencies in how technical organizations operate. We aim to become an essential AI solution alongside coding AIs in high-performance tech companies.”
