JEJU LAVA SALT announced on the 10th that it has secured seed money investment from the Jeju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation.

JEJU LAVA SALT produces conventional salt as well as premium solid salt with salinity levels below 25%, utilizing high-salinity (6%) discharge water from Jeju’s lava seawater.
The lava seawater that JEJU LAVA SALT uses is stored in volcanic bedrock layers, protecting it from external contaminants such as microplastics. The water’s high mineral content, including magnesium and silicon, enables the company to produce differentiated premium salt products.
JEJU LAVA SALT has relocated to the Jeju Lava Seawater Complex, where it is developing prototypes and building production facilities. The company is establishing its growth foundation through the Jeju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation’s marine and fisheries accelerator program and local creator support initiative.
CEO Go Kyung-min, a marine and fisheries expert with over 40 years of experience researching marine life, launched the startup this year drawing on his extensive background in the field.
This investment brings the Jeju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation’s total direct investments to 49 companies and 5.76 billion won. Since 2018, the center has been investing in promising startups using resources from Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, private investors, venture capital funds, and the Korea Fund of Funds.
