South Korean indie game publisher Redbrickhouse has secured a funding round from a group of financial investors, including Kakao Ventures, Devsisters Ventures, Smart Study Ventures, Mainstreet Ventures, and Geon Investment. The round follows an earlier strategic investment from Wemade Max, and the company says the new backing reflects growing confidence in the scalability of its indie game publishing business.

Founded in June, Redbrickhouse is a publisher focused exclusively on indie games. It scouts promising developers both in Korea and abroad, then supports them across development, publishing, and fundraising. The company works with studios to build a go-to-market strategy tailored to each title, staying involved through global service operations, IP expansion, and other growth initiatives well beyond launch.
Redbrickhouse positions itself as a close partner to indie studios from the earliest stages of development, working alongside teams to assess market potential and player feedback, and to fine-tune a game’s completeness, launch timing, and platform strategy. Its support ranges from building pre-launch communities among global players to running marketing and live-service operations and shaping business strategy and fundraising plans, adapted to each developer’s circumstances. The company says its ability to spot hit potential early, paired with deep experience in global markets, allows it to preserve a studio’s creative identity while filling in the business capabilities and international distribution reach that smaller teams often lack.
Redbrickhouse currently has a pipeline of projects spanning genres such as roguelike shooters, cooperative extraction games, and action-adventure titles, sourced from both domestic and international developers. Rather than betting on any single genre or market, the company plans to bring a broad slate of titles to PC, console, and other platforms worldwide.
The team behind Redbrickhouse draws on backgrounds in indie game discovery, publishing, and global business development. Its co-CEOs previously led efforts at Neowiz to identify international indie titles and oversee investment, M&A, and publishing activity. The team also includes specialists with a track record in China’s games market, including securing game publishing licenses (ISBN/version numbers) and navigating local distribution — experience the company plans to draw on to help Korean indie developers expand into the Greater China region and beyond.
“Redbrickhouse understands the global Steam ecosystem well enough to help developers design market-entry strategies and build player communities before launch,” said Jiwoong Kim, an investment director at Kakao Ventures. “We expect it to become an essential player in Korea’s game ecosystem, helping standout indie titles succeed on the world stage.”
“Following our earlier strategic investment, we’re glad to have top-tier venture capital firms join as financial partners, which we see as recognition of the vision and growth potential behind the indie game ecosystem we’re building,” said Redbrickhouse co-CEOs Hyukjin Kim and Jicheol Hong. “We’ll continue to be a steady partner for promising developers, supporting them from development through global market entry so they can fully realize their creativity.”
