PowerCubeSemi Completes First Mass-Production Supply of Power Semiconductors to SpaceX’s Starlink
South Korean power semiconductor firm PowerCubeSemi has successfully completed its first mass-production order for SpaceX, marking a milestone in the Korean company’s push into the global aerospace supply chain.

PowerCubeSemi’s power semiconductors are now integrated into the ground terminals of SpaceX’s Starlink system. These terminals serve as the critical hardware users install to communicate directly with low-Earth-orbit satellites, and power semiconductors are essential for managing power conversion and protection functions within the devices.
With several million subscribers worldwide, Starlink’s service quality hinges on the reliability and stability of its ground terminals. As a result, component suppliers must pass rigorous quality and performance verification—a bar PowerCubeSemi has now cleared.
According to CEO Tae-young Kang, the company’s collaboration with foundry partner DB HiTek was instrumental in meeting SpaceX’s stringent standards. “Leveraging DB HiTek’s Multi-Epitaxy-based power semiconductor process played a key role in satisfying SpaceX’s demanding quality and reliability requirements,” Kang said. He added that the company plans to deepen this partnership to expand revenue from global customers and steadily increase the share of overseas sales.
PowerCubeSemi holds proprietary technology across next-generation compound power semiconductor devices, including silicon (Si), silicon carbide (SiC), and gallium oxide (Ga2O3). The company operates a gallium oxide mass-production fab and is actively collaborating with domestic and international customers in the Si and SiC segments.
The company has been building momentum on the global stage. PowerCubeSemi showcased its gallium oxide-based deep-ultraviolet (DUV) sensor at CES 2025, and in December 2025 it secured $4.1 million in pre-IPO funding ahead of a planned KOSDAQ listing.
