InnoDtech Secures $3.4M to Push AI Orthodontic Platform Toward FDA and European Approval

South Korean AI-driven digital dentistry startup InnoDtech has raised $3.38 million(KRW 5 billion) in a new funding round backed by Albatross Investment, KDB(Korea Development Bank), SK Securities and other new financial investors.

The round, which launched in March, has already closed $2.03 million(KRW 3 billion) from Albatross Investment, SK Securities and an undisclosed domestic strategic investor, who each contributed $0.68 million(KRW 1 billion). KDB(Korea Development Bank) is expected to complete the round by contributing the remaining $1.35 million(KRW 2 billion) on July 24.

Founded in 2019, InnoDtech develops digital dental care solutions, including its AI-powered orthodontic treatment planning tool Dr.AlignNavi and its clear aligner solution Clara AI. The company secured its first institutional investment in 2023, raising $2.57 million(KRW 3.8 billion) and using the funds to commercialize its products.

InnoDtech’s technology relies on meta-learning-based AI, trained on one of the largest sets of 3D clinical data in South Korea, to automatically map out how a patient’s teeth should move and support dentists throughout treatment.

Clara AI, the company’s flagship product launched in 2024, has been supplying clinics and hospitals for about a year and a half. Last year, InnoDtech was also selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ Baby Unicorn program and an AI transformation pilot program, validating both its technology and business model.

The newly raised capital will go toward securing overseas regulatory approvals and expanding global marketing. InnoDtech is currently pursuing domestic authorization in South Korea while targeting U.S. Food and Drug Administration clearance between September and October. The company is also pursuing European CE MDR certification, and plans to accelerate its push into the Korean, American and European markets once approvals are in place.

“We’ve developed an AI service that analyzes all 28 teeth, starting with orthodontic treatment, and we plan to expand into an AI-based oral healthcare platform that manages overall oral health going forward,” said Bohun Joo, CEO of InnoDtech.

Joo added that the company is preparing a lineup of preventive oral care services and oral healthcare products, including mouth guards, with the vision of becoming a company that manages people’s oral health across their entire life cycle using AI.
