CRIT Ventures announced on Wednesday it has invested in MMORPG developer Jay Dragon Games.

Mainstreet Ventures also participated in the round. The investment amount was not disclosed.
Jay Dragon Games was founded in June by Lee Jun-seok, former chief technology officer at Lionheart Studio, the developer behind ‘ODIN: Valhalla Rising’. The company has brought together core personnel who worked on major Korean MMORPGs including Lost Ark and Night Crow. The studio is currently developing ‘Project D’, an MMORPG that supports cross-play between PC and mobile platforms.
Set in a medieval orthodox fantasy world, Project D distinguishes itself from existing MMORPGs through diverse gameplay elements. The title features mobile action combat that allows attacks while moving, rune-based skill and appearance customization, and a taming system that lets players use collected monsters as pets or mounts. The company plans to strengthen player-versus-player engagement by adding large-scale PvP, guild wars, and territorial conquest content.
CRIT Ventures decided to invest after evaluating Jay Dragon Games’ proven MMORPG development and operation capabilities, as well as the team’s commercial service experience, at a time when core players continue to demand high-quality new titles in the MMORPG market.
With the new funding, Jay Dragon Games plans to accelerate development of Project D. The company aims to expand its development organization, complete Project D by 2028, and target the Asia-Pacific market starting with South Korea and Taiwan.
“Project D faithfully delivers the familiar fun MMORPG players enjoy while focusing on adding new changes in combat and skill systems,” said Lee Jun-seok, CEO of Jay Dragon Games. “Starting with Project D, we will continue to present titles with strong gameplay and grow into a specialized MMORPG developer.”
Yim Yong-mook, team leader at CRIT Ventures who led the investment, said, “The core competitiveness of a game developer lies in the team’s expertise and accumulated know-how. Since Jay Dragon Games has brought together personnel with large-scale MMORPG development and operation experience, we expect the company to expand its presence in the global market starting with Project D.”
