The Korean logistics market is growing rapidly due to the expansion of e-commerce and increasing consumer demand for fast delivery. According to market research firm MarketsandMarkets, Korea’s logistics automation market is expected to surpass approximately $750 million (KRW 1 trillion) by 2025, with an average annual growth rate of 11.5%.
As the market expands, competition is intensifying among companies developing logistics automation equipment and solutions. Among them, SpeedFloor is a startup that enhances logistics efficiency through automated loading and unloading solutions. By targeting logistics centers, transportation companies, and courier services, SpeedFloor is establishing itself as a key player in the logistics industry with its differentiated automation technology.
Co-CEO Hong Hyun-jin is a seasoned expert with over 20 years of experience in the transportation industry, while Co-CEO Hong Seok-min, who majored in logistics, founded the company in 2021 by combining hands-on experience with academic expertise. The two are father and son. Their leadership team also includes a former executive from a major logistics company serving as COO and a conveyor design specialist with 20 years of experience, forming a powerhouse team.
SpeedFloor provides a data-driven platform that transforms the entire logistics process and has achieved significant results, particularly among small and medium-sized logistics and e-commerce businesses. The company focuses on tackling excessive costs and inefficiencies in logistics operations. From everyday parcel deliveries to products used in supermarkets and restaurants, goods pass through dozens—sometimes hundreds—of handling steps before reaching consumers. This complex process, combined with the explosive growth of e-commerce, has led to an unprecedented surge in freight volume, contributing to social issues such as overworked delivery drivers. To shift the labor-intensive loading and unloading process toward a technology-driven automation model, SpeedFloor has reimagined the structure of traditional freight trucks.

Leveraging its advanced technology, SpeedFloor is driving market innovation by targeting companies involved in last-mile delivery, logistics center automation, and ultimately, unmanned freight transport. The company operates under a dual business model: a manufacturing model that sells its system as a product and an operational model where SpeedFloor installs its technology in its own fleet to provide direct transportation services. This approach has helped the company secure a diverse customer base. In 2024, SpeedFloor generated $1.5 million (KRW 2 billion) in revenue and is projected to surpass $4.5 million (KRW 6 billion) in 2025.
At the core of SpeedFloor’s offerings is its AI-driven logistics optimization system, which automates the entire logistics workflow—from inventory management and order processing to real-time shipment tracking—maximizing efficiency. A key advantage of its platform is the ability to analyze real-time data, allowing businesses to quickly adapt to changing consumer demands and logistics environments.

The company is particularly focused on solving logistics challenges for small and medium-sized businesses. While traditional large-scale logistics systems are often cost-prohibitive for smaller players, SpeedFloor provides optimized, cost-effective solutions, making automation more accessible.
SpeedFloor is planning an investment round in early 2025 to support its global expansion efforts. The company aims to strengthen its R&D and marketing capabilities while further enhancing its platform.
“Our industry is undergoing a rapid shift toward digitalization and data-driven operations,” said SpeedFloor CEO, Hong Seok-min. “We are committed to setting new industry standards, and with this investment, we will simultaneously advance our technology and expand our global network.”

What problem is SpeedFloor solving?
Have you ever wondered how many times a package you receive has been handled before it reaches you? Chances are, it has passed through dozens—if not hundreds—of hands. This isn’t just the case for parcels but also for everyday essentials from supermarkets and canned drinks served in restaurants. Every product we use has been manually transferred multiple times. The movement of these goods is what we call logistics, and the more touchpoints involved, the higher the logistics costs.
SpeedFloor specializes in logistics automation, developing and implementing solutions that enable goods to be loaded and unloaded without human intervention, ultimately reducing logistics costs.
With the rise of e-commerce and increasing freight volumes, issues such as courier overwork have become major social concerns. As freight volumes continue to grow beyond what human labor can handle, SpeedFloor aims to replace labor-intensive loading and unloading processes with technology-driven automation, transforming the low-value-added transportation industry into a high-value-added automated logistics sector.
How does SpeedFloor address this problem?
SpeedFloor focused on the structure of freight trucks. Commercial freight vehicles were introduced over 100 years ago, and they were designed for manual operation, allowing workers to walk in and handle cargo. Since our goal was to enable fully automated loading and unloading without human involvement, we reimagined the freight truck itself as a moving logistics automation system.
We developed an embedded conveyor system for freight trucks, which we manufacture and sell. In addition to offering this system as a product, we also integrate it into our own transportation operations, increasing the profitability of each vehicle.
Freight trucks equipped with SpeedFloor’s system seamlessly connect with automated logistics centers, enabling fully unmanned loading and unloading. By improving truck profitability and automating logistics center operations, our solution is gaining significant attention in the industry as a cost-effective approach to logistics optimization.

What sets SpeedFloor apart from competitors? What are its key technological advantages?
SpeedFloor’s logistics automation system is installed in the lower section of a truck’s cargo area. It has a maximum load capacity of 35 tons and is designed to withstand the impact of speed bumps and uneven road surfaces while carrying heavy cargo without sustaining damage.
The SpeedFloor system can be applied to a wide range of cargo types, from one-ton parcel delivery trucks to 3.5-ton refrigerated trucks, 11-ton linehaul trucks, 25-ton bulk carriers, and 40-foot containers. Additionally, we are continuously advancing our technology to integrate seamlessly with automated conveyor belts in logistics centers, unmanned forklifts, and other smart logistics solutions, creating a synergistic effect across the industry.
SpeedFloor represents a disruptive innovation that will eventually replace traditional freight vehicles. Beyond logistics center automation, our technology is designed to integrate with autonomous trucking, smart city infrastructure, and other emerging innovations, making it a highly versatile and scalable solution.

What is SpeedFloor’s product?
SpeedFloor’s product is a sliding conveyor system installed at the bottom of a truck’s cargo area. The system allows cargo to be loaded and unloaded without human entry into the cargo hold. Packages are placed on the conveyor, which slides forward or backward as needed to stack or unload items efficiently.
Currently, SpeedFloor is being implemented in parcel delivery trucks, allowing couriers to load and unload shipments without stepping inside the truck. This solution significantly reduces physical strain and saves time during deliveries.
Moving forward, we are enhancing this system to enable drive-thru logistics centers. The goal is for linehaul trucks to arrive at a logistics center and unload cargo in one automated push, while last-mile delivery trucks enter and receive pre-sorted shipments in a single automated load. This will further streamline the supply chain and minimize manual handling.

What is the target market size, and who are the key customers?
SpeedFloor is expanding its business by targeting logistics companies that need faster and more cost-effective transportation solutions. Our growth strategy follows three phases: efficiency, automation, and full autonomy, with different target customers at each stage.
The first target is second-party logistics companies focused on last-mile delivery efficiency. The initial market includes ten thousand delivery trucks deployed across two hundred transfer centers in metropolitan areas. Our core strategy in this phase is delivery efficiency optimization.
The second target is third-party logistics companies aiming for automated loading and unloading in logistics centers. Automating these processes reduces truck wait times, increases turnover rates, and lowers labor costs, ultimately reducing operational expenses.
The third target is fourth-party logistics companies striving for fully autonomous logistics transport. After successfully optimizing and automating the previous phases, SpeedFloor aims to integrate with autonomous driving, smart cities, and other next-generation technologies. Our vision is to replace conventional freight trucks entirely, making SpeedFloor a game-changing innovation in logistics.
