Rebellions Acquires AI Inference Specialist SqueezeBits to Become Full-Stack AI Infrastructure Company

Korean AI chip company Rebellions has acquired SqueezeBits, a startup specializing in AI inference optimization, the company announced on June 30. The deal value was not disclosed. With this acquisition, Rebellions is accelerating its transition into an integrated AI infrastructure company that delivers NPU hardware, software optimization, and inference serving on a single platform.

Founded in 2022, SqueezeBits is a deep-tech startup with optimization and model compression technology that boosts AI model performance across diverse hardware environments while lowering operating costs. The company has built collaboration track records with global AI hardware players including Intel and Nvidia, and has posted profits for two consecutive years.

The two companies have a history of collaboration. Since 2024, they have jointly developed model compression technology and dedicated software based on Rebellions’ NPU, and co-built a domestic vLLM community to drive an open-source AI ecosystem centered on NPUs.

Rebellions was selected in March 2026 as the first direct investment company under Korea’s National Growth Fund, raising $424 million (approximately KRW 600 billion) in a pre-IPO round. The latest acquisition extends its business scope into the software and infrastructure ecosystem. It marks the company’s second strategic combination, following its 2024 merger with Sapeon Korea.

“Rebellions will join forces with SqueezeBits to evolve into a company spanning hardware, software, and system-level large-scale AI infrastructure, and we will prove that capability in the global market,” said Park Sung-hyun, CEO of Rebellions.
